Strength is meaningless without the will to use it. That is what sets my people apart
from the rest of galactic civilization. You may not lack strength, but you lack the will
to use it. We do not. -- Emperor Horus XXIII
Wolves of War
Bred among the harsh sands of Karset, the Anubian people have known only two constants in their lives: War and Bloodshed. They are a tenacious people who have conquered more worlds through sheer strength of arms than any other race. Sometimes the enemy of the galaxy, other times its savior. Their culture has spread throughout the galaxy, promoting equality between genders and valuing one thing over all else: Strength.
Appearance
Muscular and tall, Anubians resemble earth Dobermans with powerful, muscular frames. Anubians are anything but frail. They have small, but sharp eyes that range in a number of hues such as yellow, amber, orange, or other earthly tones. Their coloration matches their eyes with their fur on their arms, legs, sides, shoulders, and heads tend to be darker browns, black, or other tones matching the deserts of Karset, while their groin, torso, and chest tend to be of lighter color. Their ears tend to flop over their foreheads during adolescence and young adulthood, until their ears are docked upon entering their military service to the Empire. Anubians are considered adults at 14 and mature fully at 16. Their maximum lifespan is between 70 and 80 but this number is unreliable due to the Anubians predisposition to death in combat.
Personality
Anubians have a wide range of mannerisms. Younger Anubians tend to be brutish, vulgar, quick to anger, and arrogant while elders tend to be wiser, slow to anger, patient, and even kind should they be in good company. Their sense of wonder has long been forgotten as it serves no purpose in Anubian society. They are very slow to make friends and allies, though once one is able to befriend an Anubian, you'll have a companion for life. Rivalry and competition, especially among other Anubians is common and encouraged, until one is deemed the stronger one.
Pathers
While Anubian Pathers are among the more rare breeds of Pathers, some Anubians seek out a sense of freedom and a yearning for exploration. They often become Avengers, Juggernauts, or sometimes, very rarely, a Mentalist of a Psionic.'
