What are you gonna do? Huh? One of me is worth a few dozen of you, maybe more.
I'm not as smart as you, or as fast as you, or as pretty as you but I bet you every
wart on my back I can smash more than you could ever dream of. -- Smash, Pirate Lord
Toxic Frogs
Brutal is a fine word to be able to describe the Gredgen. Resembling large, muscular frogs, the Gredgen have forgone the elegance of war that the other races have cultivated and instead revel in the violence of it all. A nongendered species, the Gredgen do not mate and so have little means to cultivate relationships within their own society. Born of a toxic world, the Gredgen know strife and struggle from the moment they are born to the moment they die, usually at the receiving end of shotgun or blade.
Appearance
Gredgen resemble large, muscular, thick frogs with tails. Their limbs are usually thick and slimy, with their legs little more than huge stumps with two toes poking out of the front and one out of the back of the ends of their legs. Their body is often found with a thin layer of slime covering it. This is a byproduct of their evolutionary period on their homeworld that forced them to adapt to their surroundings in order to survive. Their tails are thick at the base, tapering into a point. Though lacking the tongues of their anura cousins, the Gredgen more than make up for it with their sheer strength. While not as physically strong as a Magnin, they make up for it in their skill with weaponry, especially in close quarters. A Gredgen coloration is often in shades of greens, browns, and oranges, they often have patches of brightly colored blues, purples, violets, and reds. They are some of the largest species in the galaxy in terms of height and weight.
Personality
Gredgens are nothing if not gruff, obtuse, harsh, and absolutely blunt to a fault. They often care very little for their own people, instead opting to work as a mercenary or, more commonly, as pirates. Instead of trying to grow beyond their brutish nature, most Gredgen simply embrace it and amplify it. IF the galaxy thinks they are little more than dumb soldiers, then they will do what they can to prove them right. Gredgen, while very much solitary creatures, will sometimes forge groups of battle buddies with similar interests of violence and making money. It is rare, exceedingly so, for a Gredgen to consider anyone a friend, but a battle buddy is the closest one is likely ever to get with a Gredgen. If the money is right, a Gredgen is just as likely to turn their weapons against you as they are alongside you. Violence comes as a second nature but is not seen as a negative thing to the Gredgen but simply how the galaxy works. Violence is simply the way of things.
Pathers
Gredgen almost never become Pathers. Pathers are seen as too rigid, too moral, too strict for them. On the rare instance of a Gredgen becoming a pather, they usually operate solo and take missions that send them far away from civilization. A Gredgen are simply more likely to become the Pather's polar opposite: a pirate. When Gredgens are pathers, they are often Avengers or Juggernauts and, very rarely, Soldiers.
