Peace is a fragile thing, Our people know this better than any other. That is why we
are not afraid to achieve peace through any means necessary. -- Warchief Tekish Von Sithesia
Born in the Shade
Born among the hot and humid world of Sithesia, the Ishkarians are a unique people, having had one of the longest civil wars in the history of the galaxy. Aloof and often cocky, Ishkarians are also known to be a very jovial people. While often embroiled in some galactic conflict, the Ishkarians tend to support the side they deem to be in the right from the shadows through information and subterfuge. Their culture has spread among their allies through their reverence of nature and the natural world.
Appearance
Thin and lithe, the Ishkarians resemble large iguanas, though people have often drawn some parallels to earth dinosaurs, particularly the utahraptor. While not particularly frail, they tend to play to their strengths of being faster and more graceful than most other races. They have eyes that tend to be sharp and slender, with a wide variety of hues ranging from blues, greens and even purple, to gold, orange, or even red. The coloration of their scales tends to lend itself to the greens, golds, blues, or teals of their home world. Most of their body tends to be a single color, with a lighter variation around their torso. Some even have scales that tend to be of a wildly different color than the rest of their body. While having no ears to speak of, they have small holes on the sides of their head that serves at their auditory organs. The most striking thing about the Ishkarian people is their large crest that starts in the middle of their forehead and goes back along the entire length of their head, getting smaller when it reaches the nape of the neck. Females tend to have much larger crests or sails than their male counterparts. Ishkarians are considered adults at 16 and have a maximum lifespan between 90 and 100.
Personality
Ishkarians tend to have extreme personalities, a remnant of being unable to trust their own kind in their early history, resulting in generations of extreme personalities that were often a survival or defense mechanism. Aloof, sarcastic, distant, and often very quiet, Ishkarians find themselves at odds with not just others but their kin as well, especially when two Ishkarians extreme personalities generate friction. That said, many Ishkarians have very positive traits as well, such as being very funny, comical, uplifting, or kind to a fault. They are often seen as having a very positive outlook on life or a very bleak one. Because of this it is either very easy or very difficult to make friends with an Ishkarian. The ones that fail to make friends either simply don't care or will even become very distraught over this. Ishkarian are also known to very charismatic and knowledgeable of galactic history due to their extensive catalogues created by the Turish'Inkaria. Another hallmark of an Ishkarian is tradition. Everything is a tradition to them, even following in the footsteps of your mother and fathers in things like careers, professions, even mate. Ishkarians who reject these traditions are often shunned by their family.
Pathers
Ishkarian Pathers are extremely common as Ishkarians often find themselves at odds with other members of their family group. Ishkarian Pathers are often ones shunned by their family for one reason or another and became a Pather to seek a purpose in the Black. Ishkarians often become Avengers, Outlaws, Sharpshooters, and rarely Crusaders.
