The River tends to us, guides us. It nourishes us, body and soul. Sometimes, though,
the River's waters demand blood. It is in these times that we give back to the River. It
is in these times the Disquiet atone for their sins.
-- His Holiness Doranana Bubblingcreek, Scion of the Quiet River

    Tenders of the River
The very embodiment of spirituality and piety, the Venbuline are a race of aquatic humanoids born of the thalassic world Utupi. Worshippers of a quasi-deity known as The Quiet River, the Venbuline are some of the most religiously driven individuals on the galaxy. Despite this, the Venbuline have a questionable history based on each Scion's interpretation of the River's teachings.

    Appearance
Thin, lithe, and beautiful, the Venbuline are completely hairless humanoids with skin varying shades of blue, green, aqua, indigo, and violet. They often have various adornments on their body of small tentacles and fins, and their feet resemble flippers. While on first glance their skin appears smooth, Venbulline skin is actually a covering of very fine scales. Where the Ishkarian have hard, rough scales, Venbuline have small, fine, and soft scales. They often have fins on their head that resemble ears. Their eyes are fairly large to adapt to underwater life, though the iris and pupil is relatively small. One of the most striking things about the Venbuline are the sets of gills located on either side of their neck. They are also among the longest lived races of the galaxy, along with the Kronadran, living over one thousand galactic cycles sometimes.

    Personality
One thing that many people find difficult about the Venbuline is their total devotion to the River. Everything they do, provided they are not a Disquieted, has to do, in some way, with the River. Either by achieving enlightenment through the river, peace, or some other intangible thing. To this end, many others find their piety to be a struggle to get around as they will flat out deny being in a person's life if they feel that it goes against the River's direction, even if the Venbuline themselves deeply desires to be in that person's life. This largely encompasses the breadth of Venubline personalities. Despite this, if they believe the River wishes it, they can be playful, jovial, and even mischievous. Those who believe it is the River's will, are serious, stoic, quiet, and reflective.

    Pathers
Venbuline pathers are relatively rare as rarely do Venbuline interpret visions from the River directing them to be Pathers. That said, if one is Disquieted, being a Pather becomes far more appealing as it becomes a way to stay ahead of the Church's wrath. When they do become Pathers, they are often Spiritualists, Crusaders, Avengers, or rarely, Soldiers.
